| Ron Hamel is Executive Vice President and General Manager of Gulf Citrus Growers Association, a trade association representing 173 growers and more than 116,000 acres of citrus in Southwest Florida. Gulf Citrus addresses key issues of economic importance to the sustainable growth and development of the citrus industry in Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Henry and Lee counties. |

issues include: á Land and water use á Environmental regulation á Farmworker relations á Transportation á Domestic and International Trade á Domestic and international marketing programs The association also serves as the "Gulf" citrus industry voice on other important issues impacting the area's agricultural industry. |
| Hamel is
a 20-year veteran of agricultural public affairs and
product promotion. He is the Gulf Citrus Growers
Association's first Executive Vice President and General
Manager. Before joining Gulf Citrus, Hamel served as: Vice President, Public Affairs, National Dairy Promotion and Research Board, Arlington, Virginia Director of Information Services, Dairy Farmers, Inc., Orlando, Florida In these positions, Hamel was responsible for developing and implementing public relations programs for he national and Florida dairy farming industries. A journalism / public relations Honors Graduate of the University of Florida, he is: Past president, Florida Magazine Association Past secretary, Florida Agriculture Hall of Fame Federation Hamel is also active in several civic and professional organizations. |
