Programs

Florida Stewardship Foundation's programs focused on four key areas from 1994-2000:
  1. Encouraging private stewardship of natural resources;
  2. Reducing the costs of regulations on private landowners, while increasing their effectiveness in protecting public health, safety, welfare and the environment;
  3. Examining the economic values of agriculture, forestry and open space; and
  4. Identifying obstacles to productive, profitable, environmentally-compatible agricultural operations and developing policy actions targeted to local growing areas, and the state and national levels, to address these issues.

These programs resulted in a new conservation effort called LANSCAPE CONSERVATION SOLUTIONS as well as state and national legislation.
