Private lands and private landowners now are under more pressure than ever before as low prices from a lagging economy squeeze family incomes, loss of affordable land pushes out farmers and ranchers due to ongoing development pressures, and ever more extreme weather threatens crops and wildlife and changes growing conditions.

The problem, as the saying goes, is bigger than we are. Our focus, therefore, has changed, from promoting and facilitating rural land stewardship, which still is near and dear to our hearts, to promoting and deploying new renewable energy technologies to help mitigate climate change.
